Hall, Stairs & Landing

Looking at this Hall, Stairs & Landing (HSL) completed for a client located in Nantwich, Cheshire gives you the feel of the Mediterranean.

The colours in the images are 'Cushion Craze' by Crown & 'China White' in Dulux Heritage. The ceiling completed in a White Low reflective paint by Crown. The woodwork such as the skirtings, architraves & banister was painted in White Satin by Crown.

Allowing the natural light to showcase this warm yet cooling style helps brighten up creating an illusion of a larger space.

The horizontal 2 tone effect with the lighter tone on the higher half including the ceiling than the darker tone gives the affect of the space being longer and the ceiling higher.

The lower half of the wall is a Matt finish from the Crown Trade Clean Extreme stain resistant scrubbable Matt. This is high performance emulsion that is class 1 ISO 11998 independently tested. This paint is scrubbable and stain resistant, making it perfect for high traffic areas like a hall, staircase and landing.

Class 1 ISO 11998 test

According to Crown scrub resistance measures a coating's ability to withstand repeated cleaning. The assessment method involves applying a set wet film thickness of paint to a substrate, which is then left to dry for 28 days. The test panels are then subjected to either 200 or 40 scrub cycles, depending on the type of paint. Post-testing, the quantity of paint removed from the surface is determined and reported as a loss in film thickness, measured in micrometers. A Class 1 scrub rating signifies that less than 5 microns of the paint film is lost after 200 scrubs.
